This could be an allergic reaction, most commonly to nickel, which is found in many types of jewellery. When it’s warm and you're sweating or swimming, jewellery tends to release more nickel. Heat and moisture can increase the risk of developing a nickel allergy, especially if the jewellery is worn tightly against the skin. Jewellery that can stand water

Our bracelets, necklaces and anklets are made from high-quality stainless steel (316L) and coated with a solid, ceramic gold- or silver-coloured coating. This durable, water-resistant and skin friendly coating was specially developed in consultation with dermatologists.

This means you can confidently wear your Blomdahl jewellery every day – even while sunbathing, swimming or sleeping – without worrying about nickel allergy or other health issues, or that it will affect your jewellery.

Water-resistant earrings

Earrings sit close to the skin and are often exposed to moisture – for example when you shower, exercise, or sweat on a hot summer day. That’s why it’s especially important for earrings to be skin friendly, to help prevent allergic reactions.

Our earrings are made from medical grade plastic and pure medical titanium – materials that are guaranteed safe for sensitive skin. They’re lightweight, comfortable, and water-resistant. With a timeless design, our jewellery is made to be worn often and loved for years – even by those with nickel allergy.

Because it gets warm and damp under rings, the risk of allergy can increase.

That’s why we make our rings from medical titanium – a material that is extra gentle on the skin and often used in healthcare, such as in implants. You can choose from natural titanium or gold-coloured titanium, where the durable, water-resistant gold colour is applied to the outer surface of the ring. Blomdahl offers allergy-friendly rings for everyone – even those with the most sensitive skin.

LOT = Your jewellery’s identity and traceability

Each piece of jewellery comes with a LOT number on the label, giving it a unique identity. This allows us to trace, within our documentation, exactly which batch of skin-friendly material was used, who crafted the piece, and which quality controls it has undergone.
