How it is done - a guide

First, the spot where you want to have your piercing is marked using a surgical marking pen. The skin is then thoroughly cleansed using alcohol swabs. The piercing is done using sterile piercing jewellery, which is placed in a sterile, disposable holder. It has been specially designed for nose piercing and the parts that you come into contact with are taken directly out of sterile packaging.

Aftercare guide when you have had your nose pierced

Immediately after you have had your nose pierced, it might feel warm and pulsing. This is perfectly normal and it will settle down after a day or two. However, it is very important that you take care of the new piercing properly so that it does not become infected. It takes at least four weeks for the hole to heal enough that you can switch to another piece of nose jewellery. Here, you can read more about how to care for your new piercing.

If the titanium jewellery has a coating, it will only be on the parts that do not come into contact with the skin. Our piercing jewellery for the nose has been developed in consultation with skin specialists, so that it is suitable for everyone, even those who already know that they are allergic.

The jewellery we use for nose piercing with Blomdahl is not ordinary nose jewellery. It has been specially designed to facilitate the initial healing process and to make it easy for you to switch to ordinary nose jewellery once the healing process is over.

Nose jewellery that facilitates healing

Our piercing jewellery for the nose is lightweight and comfortable. For hygienic reasons, there is no clasp inside the nose. Instead, the piercing jewellery has an olive shaped tip that helps hold it in place during the healing process. With a new piercing, it is important that it is kept airy for optimal healing. Because the width of the nostril and space inside the nose can vary from one person to the next, our nose piercing jewellery is available in two different lengths.
Because the hole of a new piercing tends to shrink, we also made the post a bit thicker, which is why the hole will be a bit larger, at first. It helps ensure that the new, sensitive skin is less easily damaged when you switch to a different piece of nose jewellery.

Cleansing with special swabs

When you pierce your nose with Blomdahl, you will also receive our gentle cleansing swabs. You then use them afterwards to cleanse the area around the nose piercing, morning and evening. The swabs are also available for purchase, in case you need more.

Before you get a nose piercing

Prior to getting your nose pierced, you will be asked to certify that you have been given written aftercare instructions and that you agree to the terms stated there.

The terms are:

• I am of legal age. If not, your guardian must approve the terms.
• I/minor am fully healthy and do not have any ailments that make it advisable to not have my nose pierced. Consult your doctor if you are unsure.
• After my nose has been pierced, the piercing is my own/my guardian’s responsibility. A new piercing in the nose is also a small wound. That is why it is important that it is cared for properly during the healing process, so that it does not become infected. If I follow the aftercare instructions, I will minimize the risk of infection.
